    • acterial spondylitis (vertebral osteoarthritis, vertebral osteomyelitis) with compression of the spinal cord in 8-week-old broiler breeder chicken. The vertebra involved is always the articulating thoracic vertebra T4 (some call it T6). Etiology: Enterococcus cecorum. First reported in North America by T. Aziz & H. John Barnes.
