    • Epicardial and to a lesser extent myocardial mineralization is a common incidental finaing in many strains of inbred mice, particularly Balb/Cs, DBA, and C3H. In Balb/Cs, males are predisposed and mineral is mostly epicardial. C3H mice have predominantly myocardial mineralization and DBA do both. Mineralization becomes more prominent with increasing age.
