    • Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis is a common cause of cutaneous, and less commonly, internal abscesses in small ruminants. In sheep, they have a tendency to become indurated and lamellated, while in goats they are often liquefied. The presence of large firm abscesses of the hilar nodes may impinge on the trachea and result in asphyxiation.
