    • Known as "canker" in pigeons, Trichomonas gallinae infection also affects birds of prey. Organisms may be seen through the GI tract down to the proventriculus. Ulcerative lesions may infiltrative underlying bone; and T. gallinae has been proposed to have infected dinosaurs in this fashion.
